AREEA members nationwide have started nominating their organisations and individuals for an AREEA 2012 Industry Award, recognising achievements and excellence in the resource industry.

Held annually and currently in its 4th year, the AREEA Industry Awards have quickly been established as a premier industry accolade for organisations and individuals displaying innovation in recruitment, training and staff development.

The following six awards will be presented at a Gala Dinner held during the 2012 AREEA National Conference from 23 – 25 May. Don’t miss the opportunity to receive valuable recognition in front of a national resource industry employer audience:

Young Professional Award: Shine the spotlight on a rising-star who has made a positive impact in human resources or industrial relations processes and practices.

Indigenous Employment & Retention Award: If your organisation is active in successful engagement of Indigenous Australians in training and/or employment within a local community, nominate to be recognised for achievements in this area.

Innovation in Training and Development Award: Be recognised as an industry leader in training and development. Tell us how your organisation successfully increased staff attraction, engagement or retention rates, enhanced career development opportunities or improvements in productivity which contributed to the success of your organisation.

Australian Women in Resource Alliance (AWRA) Award: This inaugural AWRA award will recognise an organisation that proactively works to increase in the attraction and retention of women in the workplace. If your organisation demonstrates innovation and excellence in inclusive workplace initiatives and practices, nominate now.

Best Promotion of Regional Careers: Does your organisation attract the best workers to the regions? Be recognised as an online employer advertising positions based outside the major metropolitan regions.

Most Creative Recruitment Campaign: Do your recruitment campaigns stand out from the crowd and attract the most interest? This award will recognise a print or online recruitment or employer demonstrating originality and craftsmanship in areas such as photography, copy writing, illustration, design and layout.

An AREEA Industry Award can prove a valuable marketing tool for your future recruitment campaigns. In an environment where sourcing skilled labour is competitive, organisations demonstrating the most dedication and innovation in workplace relations will attract the top candidates.
