AVERAGE weekly earnings (full-time adult ordinary time earnings) in the mining industry reached $2,185.30 a week (or $113,635.60 a year) in November 2011, according to the latest figures from the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS).
Workers in the mining industry are still the highest paid workers of any industry, with the all-industries average currently sitting at $1,330.10 a week (or $69,165.20 a year).
Full-time adult ordinary time earnings in the construction industry as of November last year were $1,367.50 a week (or $71,110 a year).
