Last month, mining magnate Gina Rinehart was named as the world’s richest women.

But Gina aside, we dont really hear too much about women working in the resources industry.

That’s because there’s just 16 per cent of women employed within Australia’s mining sector.

But the Australian Women in Resources Alliance (AWRA) hope to lift that number to 25 per cent.

The group recently met in Perth and Minna Knight says the next task is to set up a mentoring program to get more women into mining.
