BILLED as ‘Australia’s only event to unite the global mining community’, the 2015 International Mining and Resources Conference (IMARC) takes place in Melbourne next month and offers a three day conference program, workshops, and an exhibition featuring more than 100 exhibitors from over 35 countries.

Held from November 9-13, the 2015 IMARC Conference builds on the event’s hugely successful 2014 inaugural year and is expected to draw thousands of delegates from the global mining community.

In her conference welcome note, Victorian Minister for Energy and Resources, Lily D’Ambrosio, says the program represents the ‘cutting edge’ of the industry, and notes the involvement of industry stakeholders including AREEA.

“IMARC facilitates robust discussion among Australian and international mining experts, CEOs, government representatives and other industry leaders. The conference’s Mining Summit is a platform to address global mining issues, promote policy and regulatory excellence, and build international links for investment and trade,” Minister D’Ambrosio says.

AREEA chief executive Steve Knott was involved on the conference organisation committee and will chair the final afternoon of the conference, featuring Fortescue CEO Nev Power, Toro Energy’s Vanessa Guthrie and Minister for Resources Josh Frydenberg, among others.

Tara Diamond, AREEA’s executive director, industry services, and Amanda Mansini, AREEA’s director of Legal Services will also be presenting separately on various workforce matters in the resource industry.
