FAIR Work Australia has been subject to the Freedom of Information Act since it was established on 1 July 2009, unlike its predecessor the Australian Industrial Relations Commission (AIRC).
Acting general manager of Fair Work Australia, Bernadette O’Neill, told a Senate Estimates hearing on 15 February that the tribunal can be subject to freedom of information requests and be ordered to provide information upon application from interested parties.
