ELECTRICITY retailer ERM Power is extending its reach to small businesses in Victoria, following the opening of its Small to Medium Enterprise headquarters in Melbourne late last week.
Supplying electricity exclusively to businesses, ERM Power will join 15 other electricity retailers in the Victorian market to increase competition in the sector and improve services state-wide.
“We are committed to investing in the Victorian energy market and the opening of our Melbourne office means we are well-placed to service the needs of our customers in this region,” chief executive Phil St Baker said.
Energy and resources minister Nicholas Kotsiras commended ERM Power’s decision, saying the move would create jobs for Victorians and strengthen the state’s energy market.
“The investment ERM Power has made allows small business in the state further choice when it comes to selecting their electricity supplier,” Mr Kotsiras said.
“The state government will continue to ensure those small business have the information and tools required to make informed choices about power consumption.
“From mid-September, optional flexible pricing plans will be available to small business to support this endeavour.”
