AUSTRALIA’s national resource industry employer group, AREEA (Australian Mines and Metals Association), has appointed experienced workplace relations and employment law practitioner Amanda Mansini to the executive role of Director, Workplace Relations.

This national position oversees strategy and management of AREEA’s specialist team of workplace relations consultants and lawyers servicing clients in all facets of Australia’s diverse resource industry – from project owner/operators to contractors, service suppliers and allied sectors.

Notably, AREEA’s work includes workplace relations strategy, management planning and execution for many of Australia’s largest resource industry projects, ranging from onshore mining operations to world-leading oil and gas developments both on and offshore.

“As Australia’s resource employers continue to navigate difficult economic conditions, AREEA is playing a critical role in supporting the industry through its transition from a record period of investment and construction activity into a long-term production phase,” Ms Mansini says.

“I am excited to continue the support AREEA provides to many of Australia’s leading employers and to further develop and implement innovative solutions to workforce development, employee engagement and industrial relations in the resource industry.”

After several years working within the Australian Industrial Relations Commission (now Fair Work Commission) and for law firms Freehills and McCullough Robertson, Ms Mansini joined AREEA in 2012.

She has since performed in a range of practitioner and senior leadership positions including managing AREEA’s workplace relations, legal and migration services in New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland.

AREEA Chief Executive Steve Knott, says Ms Mansini’s appointment to the national role is reflective of her reputation as one of the most highly trusted advisers to resource employers on human resources, workplace relations, labour strategy and risk.
