THE Australian Mines and Metals Association has launched an online training program to support the mental health of workers in the resources and energy sector.

The interactive group-based training program is designed to give employers industry-specific awareness and practical tools to minimise the mental health impacts and challenges posed by COVID-19 and support their employees’ psychological wellbeing.

AREEA director of operations Tara Diamond said the program included key insights, applications and practical activities and gave employers the chance to role-play typically difficult mental health-based conversations with employees.
