The Australian Women in Resources Alliance (AWRA) is a national workforce gender diversity initiative delivered by Australia’s resource industry employer group, AREEA.
AWRA’s overarching goal is to see women’s workforce participation in the resource, allied and related construction sectors increase to 25% by 2020, thus building a diverse mix of skills required to drive productivity and innovation.
AWRA is pursuing this objective through developing support and guidance materials and by facilitating programs that help employers attract, retain and develop female talent. These include:
• The AWRA Recognised Program
• Gender Diversity Capability Workshops
• A toolkit of Way Forward Guides
• Specialist webinars
Such assistance is seeing many resource organisations build their gender diversity capability, become a preferred employer for women and realise the advantages of a gender diverse workforce.
Individual support is also provided to women working across Australia’s vast resource industry in both professional corporate roles and those out in the field, through the AWRA e-Mentoring Program.
The AWRA initiative can benefit the productivity, quality and safety dividends of your organisation through greater workforce diversity. Contact us to learn more.
