Common Sense in Fair Work
The new Fair Work legislation will shape the future of thousands of workplaces across Australia for years to come.
That is why it was vitally important that AMMA pushed for several key commonsense amendments to the new Fair Work legislation.
Without these amendments, greater uncertainty would have existed across the resources sector – putting at threat thousands of Aussie jobs.
The commonsense and practical amendments AMMA delivered on included:
removing the requirement to notify and make a greenfields agreement with all relevant unions
removing automatic union access to non-member records from right of entry
the ability to seek union representation orders where a dispute is threatened, pending or probable
the right for an employee to revoke the appointment of a default/nominated bargaining representative
the exclusion of drop dead dates for existing agreements in the new system.
