Liana is a Workplace Relations Consultant in AMMA’s West Coast team.  An experienced Workplace Relations practitioner, Liana is able to assist and advise AMMA members on the full range of employee relations issues, including enterprise bargaining, industrial action and disputation, employee discipline and termination, equal opportunity matters, and other IR/HR issues.

Liana has previously held positions as General Manager Employee Relations and Legal Counsel at large maritime services provider, Programmed Marine, and prior to that was a Senior Associate at Corrs Chambers Westgarth Lawyers, providing workplace relations advice to a range of clients in the resources sector and other areas of industry.  She has been closely involved in complex enterprise agreement negotiations, developed and implemented IR strategies, conducted workplace investigations, managed employment related disputes, and conducted litigation in the Federal Court and Fair Work Commission regarding unlawful industrial action, enterprise bargaining, adverse action, union right of entry and other matters.

During her time with Corrs Chambers Westgarth, Liana completed a lengthy secondment with the Fair Work Ombudsman; supervising investigations and prosecutions for breaches of the Fair Work Act.   Liana was also active in the firm’s pro bono program; assisting the Employment Law Centre of WA, and the Australian Employment Covenant – an initiative of Andrew Forrest which resulted in hundreds of businesses pledging to provide work and training opportunities to indigenous Australians. Liana holds a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Economics from the University of WA.
