AMMA Farewells General Manager of Operations, Simon Billing

AMMA’s General Manager Operations, Simon Billing, has tendered his resignation. His last day with AMMA will be Friday, 11 August 2006.



Simon will commence with Gadens Lawyers in WA in the position of Special Counsel in their Workplace Relations Law practice, around mid August.

Positions held during his tenure with AMMA included:

 Principal Employee Relations Consultant, WA – March 1998 to December 1999
 State Manager, NSW – December 1999 to January 2004
 National Industry Manager, Vic – January 2004 to May 2005
 General Manager Operations, WA – May 2005 to August 2006

Simon was admitted as a legal practitioner in early 2005 having completed all the requirements for the award of Master of Laws and Legal Practice in 2004.

Simon is highly regarded by AMMA members and staff. In consulting and management roles Simon’s skills in providing high level advice across metalliferous mining, coal mining, energy, hydrocarbons and associated industries are well known to many.

Also Simon’s policy development work, legislative review, submissions, political and industry lobbying has been of the highest order.

AMMA wishes Simon all the very best in his chosen legal career.

The process of recruiting a new AMMA General Manager Operations is underway.
