National Resources Sector Employment Taskforce Consultation Meetings

On 1 September 2009 the Federal Government established the National Resources Sector Employment Taskforce, a body designed to analyse expected demand for labour as well as to develop plans to address labour and skill shortages for our sector over the next five years and beyond.

As the resources and energy sector’s peak employer organisation, AMMA is participating in this Taskforce to ensure the collective voice of employers in our sector is heard on this vital issue.

A series of consultation meetings will be held across the country to ensure that AMMA members have the opportunity to put their views and opinions directly to the Government on a first-hand basis.

AMMA's Jayne Graham explains why you should participate - Start Video (1:34 min).

Given the long-term structural employment and skills issues facing our sector in the coming years it is important that the Government's policy decisions of tomorrow are guided by those in the know today - you and your colleagues in the sector.

To nominate your organisation and a representative to attend and put forward your views about employment and skills in the resources and energy sector please click on the “Register to attend” button for your location below.

In order to facilitate constructive discussion in various locations, the Department has indicated that registration numbers will be capped. Some organisations may already have been nominated to participate depending on their locations. In all other cases, AMMA will be in contact to confirm the taskforce's acceptance of nominations.

For more information contact AMMA’s Minna Knight on 1800 627 771 or by email membership@amma.org.au.
