AMMA is holding breakfast briefings for across the country in
July 2010
Get a grip on good faith
bargaining
Enterprise bargaining 12 months on: what’s worked, what
hasn’t
More than half of Australia’s resource sector employers who
have engaged in enterprise bargaining have experienced difficulty negotiating
under the new Fair Work Act. Join AMMA as we share our members’ experiences
dealing with unions for the first time, highlight key developments in good
faith bargaining over the past 12 months and look at what the future holds.
Our expert presenter, Geoff Bull – AMMA’s Director of
Workplace Policy, along with other AMMA workplace relations specialists, will
discuss AMMA’s strategic policy initiatives arising from a review of the first
12 months of the new laws and launch our reports: What faith can we have
in good faith bargaining?
Also hear about the new Government funded Paid Parental Leave
Scheme passed into law on 17 June 2010, providing the primary carer for a
new-born child parental leave for up to 18 weeks at the national minimum wage.
Topics include:
·
Bargaining under the Fair Work Act – are employers losing faith?
·
Adverse action – the emerging iceberg?
·
Individual Flexibility Arrangements (IFAs) – what will they look
like in future?
·
Implementing the new Paid Parental Leave Scheme – to what extent
can existing schemes be offset against the new entitlements?
AMMA has been at the forefront of working with the new
workplace relations legislation. Attendance at this forum will provide a
first-hand insight into how these developments will affect you and your
operations.
Briefings are being held in major cities throughout
Australia as follows:
