speakers
- Prof Roger Collins is currently a professor at the Australian
Graduate School of Management. In January 2004 Roger was appointed as a
Member in the General Division of the Order of Australia for his services
to teaching and was awarded the Australian Human Resources Award for
Career Long Achievement in HR in 2005. As the inaugural Chairman of the
judging panels for both Australia's and Asia’s Best Employers’ awards,
Roger is well placed to offer some insight into employment practices that
increase employee engagement.
- Julia Gillard, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Education,
Minister for Employment and Workplace Relations, Minister for Social
Inclusion
- Prof Graeme Hugo is
Federation Fellow, Professor of the Discipline of Geographical and
Environmental Studies and Director of the National Centre for Social
Applications of Geographical Information Systems at the University of Adelaide. He is the author of over two hundred books, articles in scholarly
journals and chapters in books, as well as a large number of conference
papers and reports. In 2002 he secured a $1.125 million ARC Federation
Fellowship over five years for his research project, The new paradigm
of international migration to and from Australia: dimensions, causes and
implications. Immigration, its changing patterns, causes and
implications for social and economic change.
- Justice Geoffrey Giudice will discuss Comparative
view on dispute resolution in overseas jurisdictions. Justice Geoffrey Giudice
was appointed as President of the Australian Industrial Relations
Commission and as a judge of the Federal Court of Australia on 17 September 1997. At the time of his appointment he was a practicing barrister at the
Victorian Bar.

Professor
Helen De Cieri is a Professor of Management and the Director of the Australian Centre
for Research in Employment and Work (ACREW) in the Department of Management, Monash University. Helen’s previous work experience includes appointments in Australia, China, Hong Kong, Malaysia and the USA. Helen is an internationally-recognised scholar in
the fields of strategic and international human resource management (HRM). She
has researched and consulted with a wide range of organisations in Australia and around the world. Her publications include a leading Australian text
on human resource management and articles on a wide range of topics in highly
regarded academic journals. Her current research projects include: global HRM
strategies and challenges; work/life management strategies in multinational
companies; the changing role of HRM in China; and HRM in Chinese multinational
companies.

during or after the conference, you are expected to organise this yourself. AMMA
has negotiated special rates at several hotels. Note that these special rates will
