Nicola Thomson – Education and Training Manager
Nicola
Thomson is AMMA’s Education and Training Manager based in the Perth office.
In this national role, Nicola
works principally with AMMA’s Education and Training clients to design,
implement, facilitate, co-ordinate and assess various education and training
programs. Nicola is an experienced workplace trainer with extensive
expertise in designing and facilitating training courses for all levels
within organizations, for both white and blue collar employees.
Nicola has recently been involved
in designing and facilitating workshops for AMMA members regarding
supervisory and leadership skills, discipline and termination skills,
performance management and Contact Officer training for equal opportunity
complaints.
Nicola
also has extensive employee relations and human resource management
experience including strategic planning and implementation, all facets of
enterprise bargaining, advice and drafting of individual agreements, negotiations
with unions, general employment and human resource policy drafting and
implementation as well as performance management and recruitment experience.
Prior to joining AMMA in 2005,
Nicola worked within the retail, health, hospitality and real estate sectors
in Western Australia providing advice and assistance with the drafting
and implementation of enterprise and workplace agreements, strategic
negotiations, pre and post termination issues, strategies for dealing with
industrial action and the investigation and the resolution of equal
opportunity complaints and grievances.
Qualifications: Nicola has a
Master of Industrial Relations from the University of Western Australia and a
Bachelor of Commerce (Human Resources and Industrial Relations) from Curtin
University of Technology in Western Australia. Nicola holds a Certificate IV
in Assessment and Workplace Training and is currently completing her
TAA40104.
