Ian Turner – Manager Mining

Ian Turner is AMMA’s Manager Mining, based in the Brisbane office.  Ian has an extensive knowledge of the resources sector in Queensland, gained through his work as a senior consultant for AMMA in Queensland since 1989. During this time, Ian has traveled extensively throughout the state and has been involved in both the construction and production areas of major resources sector projects.  This involvement has included assisting in the negotiation of employment conditions and providing day to day advice on major resource sector construction projects, assisting members in the implementation of different types of employment regulation on resource operations and representing members in both the federal and state industrial tribunals.

Prior to joining AMMA, Ian held numerous senior positions in the federal industrial relations department, including a period as the Chief Inspector of the federal Arbitration Inspectorate in the Northern Territory and Kimberly Region of Western Australia that involved the management of the Inspectorate’s operations in those areas.
