David Johns – Employee Relations Consultant
David is an Employee
Relations Consultant in AMMA’s Adelaide Office and undertakes a broad range
of employment and people related consultancies for member organisations.
David deals with all aspects of employee relations including:
·
providing advice on award interpretation and employer
obligations under state and federal legislation;
·
drafting the full range of employment related documentation;
·
workplace restructuring and performance management;
·
resolution of workplace grievances and disputes;
·
negotiations and enterprise bargaining;
·
advice and assistance with termination of employment matters;
and
·
representing employers before various tribunals and courts.
David has a wide range
of experience and gained his knowledge and skill from senior Human Resource
Manager and Industrial Relations practitioner roles in the metals and
manufacturing, health and community services, public transport, forestry,
emergency services, and recreational industry sectors. David has the ‘hands-on’
experience necessary for converting theory into practice and engaging
stakeholders in a wide range of strategic human resource initiatives.
In addition to the
above, David has experience advising, partnering and coaching senior
operational managers and human resource practitioners in improving business
capability and performance.
David also has
extensive experience in the vocational education and training of employees
through the development and delivery of frontline management and human
resource management courses.
David’s qualifications
include:
·
a Bachelor of Adult Education from the University of South Australia,
·
a Graduate Certificate in Industrial Relations from Charles Sturt University,
·
Certificates in Assessment and Workplace Training, and First
Line Management, and
·
accreditation as a practitioner in the Situational Leadership II
and Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) instruments.
David is a Certified
Professional member of the Australian Human Resources Institute, and a member
and the Treasurer of the Industrial Relations Society of South Australia.
