AMMA (Australian Mines and Metals Association) is the national employer association representing the workplace relations and human resource management interests of the resources sector and allied industries. AMMA incorporated in 1918 and operates as a not-for-profit organisation.

AMMA highlights our members' key immigration issues in submission to Minister
AMMA has recently been involved in consultations with Senator Chris Evans, Minister for Immigration and Citizenship, regarding the Government’s migration program for 2008 and 2009. In response to an invitation by the Minister, AMMA today provided the Minister with a detailed submission highlighting areas for improvement, with specific emphasis on section 457 visas.

AMMA makes submission to senate re: Transition to Forward with Fairness Bill 2008
On 13 February 2008 the Transition to Forward with Fairness Bill 2008 was presented to Parliament. AMMA has lodged a submission to the Senate enquiry and will appear before the Senate on 7 March 2008. The Bill is the first step in the introduction of the Forward with Fairness policy the ALP took to the last federal election.
